From Then To Now ...

Jerry Holifield

Hello former classmates

I was asked to tell a little about myself since leaving Gideon High School.

I moved to Ross in the 9th grade and graduated in 1959.  I received a BS degree from Southeast Missouri State and a MS degree from Butler University.  My Doctorate degree is from Ball State University.

Currently I am Superintendent of Schools in Plainfield, IN.  I would be honored if you visited our website at www.plainfield.k12.in.us    I am also Chairman of the Board of Lincoln Bank in Plainfield.

My brother Dway was also in the class of '59 and moved to Ross in the 9th grade where he graduated in 1959.  He is currently at Bay of St. Louis, MS.

My younger brother Paul lives in Hillsboro, MO.  Paul graduated from Ross in 1960.

My brother Ray graduated from Gideon High School in 1956 and lives in Giddings, TX.

His website is http://holifieldoil.homestead.com

I'm proud that all four Holifield brothers graduated from college.

Dr. Jerry Holifield

Jerry Holifield is the Superintendent of Schools in Plainfield and a member of St. Luke's. He didn't take any of the money from the church but the project inspired him to personally raise some money to give to students and ask them to Pay it Forward. Earlier this month, he met with 80 students from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes group, showed them the Pay It Forward movie clip, and then gave them each $20 and asked them to go out and do something good for the world with it.
